A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS

The title of my last post should have been "It's the most BUSY time of the year!" What a crazy busy few weeks. I was glad last week to finally finish up with Christmas cards. The past couple of years I have been making cards for some of Matt's family, and this year I ended up making over 250 cards! I really enjoy seeing the end result though, and this year's cards ended up being some of my favorite that I have ever done.

Last week I also got to go to Porter's Christmas concert at school. We took video, but I am not computer literate enough to figure out how to get that on here. You'll just have to settle for this terrible picture. Porter is in the front on the end with his arms crossed. The third and six graders put on a crazy version of The Night Before Christmas. Porter had a small solo speaking part in one of the songs and did a great job. The most fun though was watching him in between all the numbers. The boy cannot keep still, and it was so funny to see him fidget and dance around. We got a lot of his goofiness on tape, but unfortunately didn't get my favorite.......when he started robot dancing! What a goof!
Last week I also got to go decorate sugar cookies with my sister-in-law Kaelia. She is a cake decorator and knows how to make everything look beautiful. These were definately a step up from my usual frosting and sprinkles.

And last, I made a couple of these necklaces last week for gifts, and I thought I would share the idea. It is one of my favorite easy gift ideas. Here is a link to the website where I got the idea: www.diynetwork.com/diy/cr_jewelry/article/0,2025,DIY_13762_3251368,00.html. I have been making these for a few years, and I love how they can look completely different depending on the beads you use. The first picture is the two I made last week, and the second picture is a couple that I have made in the past. Love them! Well that is a little bit of what I was up to last week. I am so glad that Christmas is almost here. As sad as it is when it is over, it will be nice for life to get back to a normal pace!
